Dan Jones is the founder of Kaizen SEO, a UK agency that works only with recruitment businesses. He spent several years placing candidates before moving into search, and has worked in SEO for over a decade.
That order matters. Most SEO agencies learn recruitment from the outside, so they optimise a recruitment website the way they would optimise any other business website. Dan ran the desk first. He knows what a retained brief is worth, why a client calls one agency and not another, and what a hiring manager is actually looking for when they compare three shortlisted suppliers. Kaizen's work starts there rather than with generic site tactics.
What he does
Dan leads every engagement personally. The work covers technical SEO, commercial page architecture, authority building and answer engine optimisation, which is the discipline of getting an agency named inside AI generated answers rather than only ranked in a list of blue links.
He built Kaizen around fixed scope, fixed price programmes instead of open ended retainers, on the view that a recruitment agency should be able to see the work before committing to a year of it.
What he writes about
Dan writes about recruitment SEO, answer engine optimisation, and the search behaviour of hiring managers and senior candidates. Most of it comes out of live client work rather than theory, so the posts tend to carry the numbers and the caveats.
